In the sci-fi comedy Summer Time Machine Blues, a group of university friends in a science fiction club face a major crisis on a blistering hot day when Daigo accidentally spills Coke on their only air conditioner remote control. With the remote broken and the heat rising, the situation seems hopeless until they discover a real time machine left behind by a mysterious boy named Tamura from 25 years in the future. Seizing the opportunity, Sago, Daigo, Niimi, and Shunsuke decide to travel back to yesterday to retrieve the remote before it breaks. However, their club advisor, Professor Kohtaro Hozumi, warns them that changing the past could trigger a grandfather paradox and destroy the universe. What follows is a chaotic race against time to fix their mistake without altering history. Through hilarious misadventures involving a 99-year-old remote, local Kappa legends, and a hidden crush between Takuma and Haruka, the club must restore order to the timeline before the universe collapses.
