In the Japanese youth drama Suikyu Yankees, Naoya Inaba, played by Nakajima Yuto, returns to Japan after growing up abroad. Having been deeply influenced by Japanese manga, Naoya holds a unique belief that yankees, or delinquent youths, are actually chivalrous heroes. Seeking to walk in the footsteps of a legendary yankee he idolized as a child, he transfers to a technical high school known as a center of water polo supremacy. However, the school is now on the verge of closing down. To his ultimate disappointment, Naoya discovers that there are no true heroic yankees left. Instead, the current students spend their days aimlessly and meaninglessly. Refusing to let his dream die, Naoya decides to take action to change the students and revive the school spirit. This inspiring story of youth, sports, and determination is perfect for fans of high school dramas.
