In the chilling Japanese horror film Shirome, acclaimed director Koji Shiraishi takes a popular television program to a terrifying new level. For this special episode, the girls are sent to an abandoned school housing a mysterious shrine dedicated to a deity or demon named Shirome. Inside, a painting that looks like a butterfly but may actually represent a face serves as the entity's shrine. Local legend warns that Shirome will grant any wish, but only if the person asking is completely sincere in their belief. If anyone makes a wish mockingly, in disbelief, or frivolously, Shirome unleashes a deadly curse, driving them to suicide, fatal accidents, or hopeless insanity.
