In the mystery drama Shirato Osamu no Jikenbo, Shirato Osamu is a 24-year-old unemployed college graduate living in Asagaya. Due to his overly kind nature and inability to say no, he constantly gets dragged into local troubles. One day, while visiting his favorite cafe to see waitress Akagawa Rio, Shirato is approached by his childhood friend, Kurozaki Hitoshi. Kurozaki drops a bombshell: he is running from the police, suspected of the robbery and murder of a local secondhand bookstore owner. Desperate to clear his name, Kurozaki begs Shirato to find the real culprit. Since Shirato cannot do it alone, Kurozaki partners him with Yamanoi, an unconventional former police officer. Together, they race against time to track down a pickpocket named Kuwata, the suspected true criminal. With only three days before the police close in on Kurozaki, Shirato and Yamanoi corner Kuwata, but an unexpected attack from behind threatens the entire mission. Can Shirato catch the thief and prove his friend’s innocence?
