Horie Mana enjoys a stable life as a diligent sales clerk, secretly harboring a quiet affection for her coworker, Hashii Tsubasa. Her reserved personality, however, keeps her from acting on these feelings, leaving her content to observe from afar. Her peaceful routine takes an unexpected turn when high school classmate Honda Ai mentions a sighting of Takato Hino. Hino was Mana's only close friend during their school days, and they had lost touch completely after graduation.

Fate intervenes when Mana coincidentally runs into Hino. Learning that Hino has recently gone through a divorce and is left without a place to stay, Mana, driven by compassion and a desire to rekindle their past bond, welcomes her long-lost friend into her home.
