In the comedy-drama Shine on You, businessman Kar Tsai Choi (Au Yeung Chun Wah Bobby) faces an unexpected career shift when his boss appoints him as the headmaster of a low-ranked middle school. Confronted with a dreadful school reputation and a severe financial crisis, Choi must cut expenditures. His first targets for termination are teachers Tsang Ching Leung (Dao Tai Yu Michael) and Wong Yeuk Sze (Kwok Ho Ying Kenix). While Leung thinks teaching would give him an easy life, Sze holds a very strong commitment to education. These opposing views trigger constant conflicts among the three. However, caretaker Kar Wah Biu (Chun Pui Paul) steps in to bridge their differences, helping them build a strong bond. As their united efforts finally bring everyone together as never before, their hard work is suddenly threatened by a rumor that the school is going to close.
