In the gripping drama Shin Naniwa Kinyuudou, Haibara Tatsuyuki has spent fifteen years working for the finance company Teikoku Financing. Now run by Takayama Kazuo after the passing of Kaneko Takatoshi, the company navigates a landscape of tightened moneylending regulations. Haibara and his senior Kuwata Sumio routinely collect debts, bringing them to Magonote Kenzo, the president of Magonote Constructions. Teikoku Financing holds the mortgage to Kenzo's land, a place filled with precious memories for his daughter Yoko. When pressured to sell, Yoko desperately turns to Dotsubo Kyoichi, the president of Dotsubo Financing. Dotsubo entices Yoko with a shady backhand scheme to settle the debt. Although this ploy initially blocks Teikoku Financing, it ultimately pushes Yoko deeper into financial ruin. Moved by her plight, Haibara ignores the warnings of those around him and desperately works to help Yoko repay her debt.
