In the captivating drama Shikyu No Kioku, 17-year-old Masato Emoto Tasuku grows up in a wealthy family, never lacking material comforts. However, a cold and distant relationship with his parents leaves him with a deep sense of emptiness. His life takes a dramatic turn when he discovers a shocking truth from his past: he was kidnapped by a woman when he was just an infant. Driven by curiosity about his origins, Masato travels to Okinawa to find the woman, Aiko Matsuyuki Yasuko. Upon locating her, he ends up staying to work at her restaurant. As the two grow closer over time, an ambiguous relationship slowly develops between them, one that is not quite mother and son, and yet not quite lovers.
