In the quiet, old town of Nara, the Aso family experiences an unimaginable tragedy during the hot midsummer Jizo Festival. Kei, one of their twin boys, vanishes without a trace, leaving his family frozen in grief. Five years later, seventeen-year-old Shun, the surviving twin, struggles to cope with the loss.
