Description:

Sakamichi no Ie follows Terashima, a meticulous bedding shop owner whose sole purpose in life is stashing money away, much to his wife Mitsu's chagrin. His disciplined existence shatters when the alluring young customer, Rieko, enters his shop. Terashima instantly falls in love, offering her bedding on credit and rapidly deepening their intimate relationship. Unbeknownst to him, Rieko harbors a dark past; she has followed her late mother Takako's path, using men for financial gain in Tokyo.

A year later, Terashima is a transformed man, having neglected his business and squandered all his savings supporting Rieko. Despite Mitsu's complaints, he remains defiant. However, Rieko's attention shifts upon reading a newspaper article about her first love, Naoki, now a university associate professor. Their reunion rekindles old affections, creating a profound emotional change. Terashima, sensing this subtle shift, sets the stage for an unimaginable hell to descend upon all three of them.
