The Roosevelt Game plot follows the intense corporate struggle of the Aoshima Company, a medium-sized precision machine maker in the suburbs of Tokyo. Following a severe financial slump, President Takashi Hosokawa faces a massive crisis as banks threaten to cancel the company loans. To demonstrate their commitment to financial recovery, President Takashi proposes a shocking cost-cutting measure: abolishing the company's once-famed baseball team, which costs 300 million yen annually to run. This decision shocks the executives. To succeed, President Takashi must first convince the company founder and Chairman, Tsuyoshi Aoshima. Challenged by Tsuyoshi to find his presidential philosophy, or ism, President Takashi declares that his sole ism is to protect the Aoshima Company at any cost. However, as he struggles to save the business, an even bigger crisis looms on the horizon.
