The horror begins as two teenagers discuss a videotape from Izu, fabled to bear a curse that kills viewers seven days after watching. One teen confesses she and three friends watched a weird tape a week ago and received an unsettling call. Moments later, her TV inexplicably turns on, and she is terrifyingly killed by an unseen force. Days later, reporter Asakawa Reiko investigates the surge in popularity of this urban legend. She is horrified to discover her own niece and three other friends have died mysteriously and simultaneously, their faces twisted in fear. The sole survivor who witnessed one of these deaths is institutionalized, driven insane. Delving deeper, Reiko finds photographs suggesting the four victims had recently stayed in a rental cabin in Izu. Adapted from Koji Suzuki's chilling novel, this film unravels a dark mystery involving a supernatural curse and a race against a deadly deadline.
