Poongsan is a gripping action drama centered on a mysterious, mute courier nicknamed Poongsan, played by Yoon KyeSang. He risks his life crossing the deadly DMZ border between South and North Korea to deliver messages and smuggle people. His clients reach him through secret banners placed at a makeshift memorial. His next dangerous mission involves Kim JongSoo, a high-ranking North Korean defector living in South Korea under NIS protection. Paralyzed by fear of assassins, Kim JongSoo begs NIS section chief Han KiJoong to retrieve his beloved InOk, played by Kim GyuRi, from Pyeongyang. The NIS recruits Poongsan for the job. Promising to complete the impossible task in just three hours, Poongsan slips into the night. He successfully retrieves InOk, but as they make the treacherous journey back across the border into South Korea, InOk begins to develop a deep, emotional attachment to her silent savior.
