Platinum Town (2012)

Description:

An elite salaryman makes a long-awaited return to his hometown, only to discover a community deeply changed and grappling with a staggering 15 billion yen debt, largely due to financially unviable public projects from the past. Invited by a childhood friend, he is compelled to assist in the town's recovery. Driven by this newfound purpose, he resigns from his corporate career and takes on the challenging role of mayor. His radical strategy to rescue the struggling town involves an unprecedented proposal: building a specialized theme park for the elderly. This daring vision is met with immediate and strong resistance from a senior town councilor.
