In the gripping mystery thriller Petero no Soretsu, Sugimuro Saburo, the son-in-law of the powerful Imada Concerns group Chairman and assistant editor of their in-house newsletter, finds himself in a deadly situation. While returning to the office with chief editor Sonoda and staff member Tejima after interviewing ex-board member Mori Nobuhiro, their routine journey turns into a nightmare when their bus is hijacked. Along with Sugimuro, Sonoda, and Tejima, the hostages include metal foundry manager Tanaka Yuichiro, elderly housewife Sakoda Toyoko, university dropout Sakamoto Kei, aspiring patissier Maeno Mei, and the bus driver Shibano Kazuko. The mastermind behind this highly calculated hijack is Sato Ichiro, a mysterious man who leaves no room for escape.
