Pale Moon introduces Rika Umezawa, a seemingly content housewife whose life takes an unexpected turn when she secures a part-time job at a bank. Tasked with collecting customer deposits at their homes, Rika initially excels, earning praise for her professionalism. However, beneath the surface, a deep void in her personal life emerges, fueled by a distant husband and a sense of growing emotional disconnect. Seeking solace and excitement, Rika embarks on a secret affair with a younger university student, Kota. This illicit relationship, coupled with a blossoming addiction to shopping, soon drives her to a dangerous path. Rika begins to embezzle funds from the very customer deposits she is responsible for.
