The story follows Xiao Wei, a demon fox raised as a human girl by Xia Lao. When Xiao Wei accidentally kills Xia Lao, she goes on the run, pursued by his vengeful granddaughter, Xia Bing. Soon, Xiao Wei is taken in by General Wang Sheng and his wife Pei Rong. Suspecting Xiao Wei is a disguised demon, Pei Rong recruits her admirer Pang Yong for help. Pang Yong partners with Xia Bing to expose the truth. Meanwhile, Xiao Wei falls in love with Wang Sheng but discovers her immense magical powers cannot win his heart.
