The story of Otto no Kanojo begins with a major misunderstanding. Komatsubara Hishiko, a 39-year-old housewife prone to anxiety attacks and daydreaming, suspects her husband Mugitaro of having an affair with a young staff member, Yamagishi Hoshimi. Determined to confront her, Hishiko goes to her husband's office. However, a strange event occurs, causing Hishiko and Hoshimi to swap bodies. Suddenly, Hishiko finds herself in the body of a 20-year-old Office Lady. Meanwhile, the outspoken Hoshimi must navigate the unfamiliar role of a wife and mother.
