The small theatre troupe ENGINE, based in a gritty Osaka building near Tsutenkaku Tower, tirelessly prepares their acclaimed play, DICE. With their Tokyo performance drawing near, lead actress Yamaguchi Mai and her dedicated young colleagues push their limits, even sacrificing sleep. DICE holds deep significance; it's their most famous work, first performed a decade ago, now making its long-awaited Tokyo debut. Troupe leader Mr. Shigemori is intensely invested, yet his usual enthusiasm sours into growing dissatisfaction with the current rehearsals. Amidst this pressure, Mai unearths an old VHS tape in the company archives, simply labelled "DICE." It contains rehearsal footage from the original 10-year-old production. The moment Mai and her friends watch this forgotten recording, a series of strange and inexplicable phenomena begin to plague them, casting a chilling shadow over their aspirations.
