Set in the Edo period, Osoroshi is a gripping psychological drama centering on seventeen-year-old Ochika. Traumatized by a tragic murder in her family's Kawasaki inn, where her fiancé was killed by a man raised as her own sibling, she shuts her heart to the world. Seeking refuge, Ochika escapes to Mishimaya, a bag shop run by her uncle Ihei in Edo's Kanda Mishimacho. To help her heal, Ihei summons Ochika to Kokubyaku no Aida, a room where he usually plays the game of go. He instructs her to listen to one hundred odd horror tales from mysterious visitors. As Ochika hears these curious, supernatural stories, she begins to confront her own deep-seated grief, slowly dismantling her emotional walls to find healing.
