Offbeat Cops centers on Naruse Tsukasa, a detective whose unwavering enthusiasm for justice often leads him to operate outside conventional police guidelines. Believing that catching criminals sometimes necessitates unconventional methods, Tsukasa is dedicated to his work. His current assignment involves a complex voice phishing scheme that cruelly targets unsuspecting elderly individuals. Fueled by a desire to protect the vulnerable and frustrated by standard procedures, Tsukasa makes a daring move: he aggressively targets a key suspect without first securing a warrant. This bold breach of protocol, while perhaps effective, carries significant consequences for the rule-bending detective. As a direct result of his unauthorized actions, Naruse Tsukasa finds himself abruptly transferred from active duty to the police musical band.
