Description:

Set in the evocative 1960s, "Norwegian Wood" tells the story of high school student Toru, whose world is shattered after his only friend, Kizuki, commits suicide. Desperate for a new beginning, Toru moves to Tokyo and enrolls in university. By chance, he encounters Naoko, Kizuki's former girlfriend, at the university. Sharing a profound sense of loss, they develop a deep and intricate bond.

As Toru and Naoko grow closer, Naoko's personal grief intensifies, becoming an overwhelming force. Shortly after her 20th birthday, she leaves for a sanitarium in Kyoto. Toru is left devastated by her departure and the lingering sorrow. During the spring semester, amidst his heartbreak, Toru meets Midori, a purehearted individual described as resembling a small animal that has just entered the world, offering a new perspective.
