No Man's Land is a gripping thriller that explores the thin line between human civilization and primal survival instincts. The story begins with a metaphor of two monkeys cooperating in the wild, setting the stage for a tense journey through a desolate desert. Pan Xiao, a slick middle-class lawyer played by Xu Zheng, travels to a remote rural western town to defend a ruthless falcon poacher. After winning the case through clever reasoning, Pan claims the poacher's car as payment and begins his drive back home. However, he is unaware that the vehicle holds highly valuable stolen falcons. As he navigates the harsh, uninhabited landscape, Pan suffers a series of unfortunate accidents and encounters dangerous, unsavory characters. After losing his glasses and accidentally hitting another poacher, played by Huang Bo, Pan is consumed by intense fear and guilt. Lost in the unforgiving wilderness, he must embark on a treacherous physical and metaphorical journey to reclaim his humanity and return to civilization.
