Based on the masterpiece Ningen Shikkaku, No Longer Human tells the tragic story of Yozo Oba, played by Toma Ikuta. Born into a wealthy Tsugaru family, Yozo has felt entirely alienated from humanity since childhood, hiding his true feelings behind a fake smile. After moving to Tokyo, classmate Dakeichi's predictions come true as Yozo becomes popular with women and dives into a fast lifestyle. Introduced to the Tokyo nightlife by Horiki Yusuke at Madame Ritsuko's Blue Flower Bar, alongside poet Chuya Nakahara, Yozo slowly spirals into self-destruction. Weary of his empty existence, Yozo meets a lonely cafe worker named Hisako. Sensing a shared despair, they attempt a double suicide in the Sea of Kamakura. While Hisako dies, Yozo survives, only to be sent to a sanitarium by his family. This psychological drama captures a young man's painful descent into darkness and his desperate struggle to find belonging in human society.
