The psychological thriller Nightmare begins with the mysterious death of Wang Kexin, a funded orphan who fell from a rooftop during a stormy campus party, captured secretly on DV camera by a hidden middle-aged man. Two years later, her friend Yang Xiaoxiao returns from the United States to live in a luxury villa arranged by her father. However, she is soon haunted by bizarre occurrences and a recurring dream of a girl in a red dress. Seeking answers, Yang Xiaoxiao reunites with Xue Lin, Kexin's ex-boyfriend who is now a practicing psychiatrist.
