In New Princess Returning Pearl, Zi Wei, an illegitimate child of Qianlong Emperor, travels to the capital and befriends Xiao Yan Zi. After becoming sworn sisters, Xiao Yan Zi attempts to help Zi Wei connect with her father by infiltrating his hunting mountain.
