Nekoben introduces Taro, a brilliant attorney nicknamed the Cat Lawyer due to his profound love for felines and his dedication to animal-related cases. His unconventional office, currently home to eleven rescued cats, reflects his compassionate nature. The story begins with a chaotic funeral for a shoe company president when the hearse, carrying the deceased, mysteriously drives off, leaving attendees stunned. The son, Susumu, later seeks Taro's discreet assistance, unable to report the bizarre incident to the police for an undisclosed reason. Susumu reveals he received a ransom call demanding 15.4 million yen for his father's body. Taro must now utilize his exceptional deductive reasoning and sharp intellect to secretly unravel this perplexing mystery, recover the body, and uncover the truth behind the audacious crime.
