In the film My Wife Is 18, Cheng, a thirty-year-old man in London, repeatedly fails his university assessment in the psychology of women. To make matters worse, his girlfriend ends their relationship, leaving him with no female subjects to study for his essay. Under immense pressure from his mother and ninety-three-year-old grandmother to settle down, Cheng is introduced to Yoyo, an eighteen-year-old woman. Although they find the idea ridiculous, they agree to marry. They make a contract to divorce within a year with no sexual relationship, which Yoyo accepts to fund her lifestyle using Cheng's wealth. By chance, Cheng becomes Yoyo's teacher, forcing her to hide their marriage from her school and her crush, Kelvin. As life continues, Yoyo slowly finds herself falling in love with Cheng.
