"My Small Land" tells the poignant story of Salya, a 17-year-old high school student thriving in Japan. Raised in Saitama as part of a Kurdish family, she has always felt Japanese, enjoying a normal life alongside her peers. Her world dramatically shifts when her family loses their status of residence, overturning their stability and forcing Salya to confront a harsh new reality. Living in a Saitama area densely populated by Kurds, she finds herself grappling with a profound crisis of identity and belonging. As her family's daily life changes completely, Salya embarks on a journey of self-discovery amidst cultural challenges and legal uncertainties. Her struggle to define who she is becomes central, particularly when she forms a significant connection with a Japanese boy, prompting her to reconcile her dual heritage and search for her true place in this small land.
