In the heartwarming movie Morisaki Shoten no Hibi, Takako Kikuchi Akiko experiences a sudden life crisis when she discovers that the man she loves is getting married. Heartbroken, she abruptly quits her job. Seeking a fresh start, Takako accepts an unexpected offer from her uncle Satoru to help him manage his secondhand bookstore, Morisaki Bookstore. Located in Jinbocho, a bustling Tokyo district famous for its bookstores, publishing houses, and distribution warehouses, this unique shop becomes her new sanctuary. Although Takako has never been much of a reader, her daily life at Morisaki Bookstore slowly changes her perspective. Surrounded by the distinct scent of old pages and interacting with quirky customers, she unexpectedly falls in love with the world of secondhand books. As the seasons change from summer to fall and winter in Jinbocho, Takako embarks on a journey of self-discovery, finding healing and personal growth through introspection and her newfound love of literature.
