Mookuthi Amman follows Engels, a struggling news anchor from a poor family, abandoned by his father. After repeated marriage rejections, his family visits their deity's temple where Engels witnesses Amman in human form. Amman, visible only to Engels, promises to uplift his family if he popularizes her temple. Engels agrees, first granting his eldest sister weekly holidays to recognize her sacrifices. Their newfound luck is threatened by Bhagavathi Baba, a godman planning a destructive project near the temple. Amman makes herself visible to Engels' family, and they unite to expose Baba's scams. Engels discovers his father among Baba's followers, revealing further deceit. His mother and sisters infiltrate Baba's group, secretly collecting evidence of his misdeeds. Engels uses his new TV show to reveal Baba's bigotry and illegal project plans to the public. At the project's groundbreaking ceremony, after Baba challenges Engels and attempts to stop his family, Amman intervenes. She then appears to everyone, exposing Baba's falsehoods and emphasizing faith over fear before disappearing. Engels, grateful for his life, advises viewers against greed.
