Description:

In the flourishing Spring of 1814, Chef Mio of the popular Tsuruka restaurant basks in glory after winning a prestigious cooking competition. Her compassionate heart connects with young Fuki, an orphaned girl newly employed to assist customers. Meanwhile, the enigmatic novelist Seiemon becomes a daily fixture, consistently critiquing Mio's culinary creations yet always returning. Mio is intrigued, contemplating asking him about mysterious words connected to Komatsubara Tokei no Ma.

Adding to her concerns, Mio discovers a troubling pattern: Toryuro, a rival establishment, inexplicably serves dishes identical to her newest creations even before Tsuruka can feature them. Amidst this professional puzzling, personal tragedies strike. Mio learns her cherished childhood friend, Noe, a prominent oiran, has been severely injured protecting another woman. This news rekindles Mio's profound despair over Noe's past fate. Simultaneously, her housemate's son contracts life-threatening measles, pushing Mio to the brink as she navigates these overwhelming challenges.
