In the classic martial arts drama Men Don't Cry, the manipulative villain Ho KeiKin, also known as Bully Kin, terrorizes Guangzhou after a traumatic childhood turns him bitter. Kin sets his sights on a valuable house managed by the bucktoothed trustee Ling Yuk Tsui. To secure the property, Kin schemes to discredit the honorable kung fu master Wong FeiHung, eventually deceiving Tsui and leaving her homeless. Tsui finds shelter at Hung's martial arts clinic, Po Chi Lam. When Kin later loses his influence and becomes hated, the forgiving Hung takes him in as an apprentice. Despite Kin's attempt to sabotage Hung in a lion dancing competition using a dangerous narcotic, Hung's unusual integrity inspires Kin to redeem himself. As Hung's vision begins to fail from the drug's effects, he appoints a reformed Kin to run Po Chi Lam, sparking misunderstandings and a new rivalry with former associate Kam ChinPao.
