Material Queen follows Lin Chu Man, a gorgeous fashion model who prioritizes wealth above all else in a partner. Her materialistic worldview is shattered when she discovers her seemingly perfect suitor is not the wealthy Mr. Norman, but actually Cai Jia Hao, a penniless music student from Paris working as a body double. After promptly dumping him, Lin Chu Man faces a series of misfortunes: a younger rival steals her modeling job and her wealthy lover abandons her. In a twist of karma, she finds herself forced to share an apartment with none other than Cai Jia Hao. This unexpected living arrangement sparks tension, but as they spend more time together, they begin to reconcile and truly understand one another. Despite her plans to target real estate tycoon Yan Kai Ming, Lin Chu Man finds her feelings for Cai Jia Hao growing.
