In the fantasy epic Magic Sword of Heaven and Earth, Fairy Baidong, a young immortal looking like an old man, witnesses Earth suffering from the world of Evil. Alongside his assistant LuJan, he opens a medical facility on Earth under the name Budong. Budong mentors Shuangde, an impoverished scholar living in a temple. Shuangde loves Qinger and trains her alongside her sister Caier to be good, despite them being raised by Evil spirits. Warning Shuangde that the sisters are evil, Budong's extreme zeal leads to his downfall. He is tricked by the Master of Darkness into freeing his spirit under the false belief that containing it will stop him. Blinded by self-righteousness, Budong commits devastating acts, killing Qinger, Caier, and Cuo, a warrior of the jade sword raised by an evil tree spirit. This gripping tale of misguided righteousness and dark deception explores the tragic cost of extreme prejudice.
