Lives of Omission is a gripping crime drama following Leung Siu Tong, also known as Laughing, played by Michael Tse. After surviving years as an undercover cop, he successfully infiltrates an armed robbery gang by pretending to be mute. Although he briefly becomes an instructor for undercover work, the stress of discipline drives him back to the field. He applies to be an undercover agent once again, only to find that his new supervisor is Chief Inspector Jodie Chow Mong Ching, played by Fala Chen. Strikingly, Jodie looks exactly like his deceased girlfriend. As they communicate during his dangerous missions, a forbidden black-and-white romance blossoms between the female inspector and the undercover spy. They find themselves caught in a tragic bond, becoming a pair that is deeply in love but ultimately cannot love.
