Description:

Legend of Hyang Dan is a refreshing and shocking twist on a classic love story. In this unique version, it is actually the servant Hyangdan (played by Seo Jihae) who deeply loves Mongryong (Choi Siwon), deviating from the original tale. Their instant love is tested by strict social ranks when Mongryong hides in Hyangdan's home while fleeing the police. Complications arise when Wolmae (Bang Eunhee) plots to marry her daughter Chunhyang (Lee Jisoo) to Mongryong, forcing Hyangdan to assist due to her low status. To hide her forbidden feelings, Hyangdan agrees to marry Bangja (Heo Jeongmin), but Mongryong confesses his love before leaving for Hanyang to take the civil service exam. Hyangdan promises to accept him only if he passes. While Mongryong is away, the tyrannical new magistrate Byeon Hakdo (Lee Seongmin) demands Chunhyang's bed service, leading Wolmae to desperately ask Hyangdan to take her place.
