Laxmii follows Asif, a ghost skeptic, on a family visit where he discovers a buried body in haunted grounds. Blood from the body contaminates a lemongrass plant, leading to Asif's possession after he drinks tea from it. He begins acting effeminate, as the family discovers three ghosts, including a violent transgender woman, a man, and a mentally disabled boy, possess him.

After an exorcism, the transgender spirit Laxmii recounts her tragic past: disowned, she supported an adopted girl, planning a hospital for the poor. A crooked MLA unlawfully seized her land and murdered Laxmii, her benefactor, and his son. Before dying, she vowed revenge. Moved, Asif allows Laxmii to re-possess him, enabling her to gruesomely dispose of the MLA and his henchmen. The film concludes with Asif building Laxmii's envisioned hospital and reuniting with his wife.
