Description:

After a mysterious tenure with the FBI, the legendary Shuichiro Kiriyama, portrayed by Odagiri Joe, makes an unexpected return to the aging management section of the Sobu police station. A man with a unique hobby of investigating cases that have long since passed their statute of limitations, Kiriyama quickly finds himself drawn to the perplexing Urashima Gas Station Fire Case. This incident, which occurred 24 years prior, saw a gas station in a quiet port town burn down, culminating in a massive explosion and the discovery of a severely burned body.

Although police initially identified the victim as former high school student Koji Sawamura based on distinct uniform buttons and physique, the original investigation into accident, murder, or suicide failed to uncover the true circumstances. The truth surrounding the fire remains obscured, having evaded justice. Now, with the murder case having technically aged just a day before its full abolition years ago, Kiriyama embarks on a personal quest to finally shed light on the long-covered secrets of the Urashima tragedy.
