In Those Days follows a young man whose life has spectacularly crashed. Rejected from graduate school, penniless, lacking a girlfriend, and with his band's prospects dim, he finds himself at rock bottom. His despair takes an unexpected turn after watching a video of Aya Matsuura's song, "Momoiro Kataomoi." This experience ignites an intense obsession with the idol singers of Hello! Project, propelling him into the fervent world of the idol geek lifestyle. He soon finds a new sense of purpose and camaraderie among fellow fans. Yet, as time inevitably progresses, he and his close circle of friends begin to discover other passions and responsibilities that gradually gain equal importance in their lives. The film beautifully captures their journey of maturation, as they slowly start to transition and move beyond the all-consuming devotion of their idol-focused days.
