Description:

One year after his transfer, Michio diligently conducts trials in Kumamoto. A serious grievous bodily harm case arises there, involving a young man critically injured after a gang fight. While the suspect pleads guilty, suggesting a simple outcome, Michio discovers he initially denied the charges. Doubting the suspect's true guilt, Michio activates his authority to begin a deeper investigation into the circumstances. Simultaneously, in Tokyo, head judge Komazawa deliberates a personal injury case between employees of a large company. This trial quickly becomes a proxy war between factions vying for company leadership, much to Komazawa's irritation. As these two seemingly unrelated legal proceedings advance, an unexpected connection emerges, ultimately exposing dreadful heartbreak and profound darkness hidden at the center of both cases when they finally reach court.
