In the film Hospitality Department, employees within the hospitality division of Koichi Prefecture struggle to find innovative ways to promote regional tourism. Their efforts are heavily hindered by strict government regulations that prevent them from showcasing the area's breathtaking natural beauty. Seeking a breakthrough, the prefecture appoints Kyosuke Yoshikado, a popular writer and Koichi native played by Kengo Kora, as a special tourism envoy. Kyosuke is advised to consult Seien, a former employee who was fired after proposing an eccentric plan to import pandas.

Meanwhile, hospitality division staff members Fumitaka, played by Ryo Nishikido, and Taki, played by Maki Horikita, visit the tourist house run by Seien and his daughter Megumi Seki. Upon their arrival, Megumi throws a bucket of water at them, harboring deep resentment over her father's unfair dismissal. Despite this rocky and wet introduction, this unexpected encounter sparks a brilliant new plan, setting the hospitality division on an exciting path to revitalize Koichi Prefecture.
