Holding Love is a thrilling romantic comedy that begins in Beijing with the sudden divorce of magician Tao Xiaolei and air hostess Zhou Jing. Despite their split, the couple wins a free honeymoon to Sanya, Hainan Island. After agreeing to go their separate ways, a wild night leads Xiaolei to wake up next to his ex-girlfriend, Fang Meng. Shockingly, he receives a call claiming Zhou Jing has been kidnapped, demanding one million RMB. To raise the ransom, Xiaolei contacts his friend Sun Nuo and reluctantly begs his estranged father, Tao Dawei, for financial help, while also attempting dangerous gambling. Meanwhile, Zhou Jing is stranded in the jungles of Jianfengling National Park with botanist Bao Sanhe. As the tense situation unfolds, Zhou Jing manages to return to the hotel, only to spot Xiaolei leaving with Fang Meng. Nothing is as it seems in this clever game of love, deception, and misunderstandings.
