Hirugao explores the secret lives and forbidden desires of married housewives. Sasamoto Sawa is a seemingly happily married housewife working part-time as a supermarket cashier. Her quiet life changes when she meets Takigawa Rikako, a wealthy neighbor who outwardly has a perfect family but secretly engages in passionate afternoon affairs. One day, Rikako is caught with her lover, Hagiwara Tomoya, when a high school student named Kentaro attempts to rob them in a parking lot. To hide her infidelity from the police, Rikako uses Sawa to fake an alibi, and Sawa plays along. This incident brings Kentaro's teacher, Kitano Yuichi, to the scene. This chance meeting sparks an unexpected connection, and Sawa soon finds herself unable to forget Yuichi. As they step across the line, Sawa enters her own illicit affair.
