In the action-packed sci-fi film Heaven Soldiers, set in 2005, North and South Korean governments secretly develop a powerful nuclear warhead together. However, when political leaders decide to hand the weapon over to the American military, North Korean officer Kang Mingil, played by Kim Seungwoo, goes rogue. He steals the nuke and flees with nuclear physicist Kim Suyeon, played by Kong Hyujin. To recover the asset, South Korean Navy Officer Park Jeongwu, played by Hwang Jeongmin, leads a team of elite commandos to track them down. During a fierce firefight, a mysterious passing comet suddenly transports the entire group, along with the physicist and the nuclear weapon, back in time to the late 1500s. They find themselves stranded in the historical era, right in the middle of a brutal battle where Korean peasants are desperately fighting off marauding Chinese barbarians. Now, enemies from the modern era must decide how to survive the past.
