In the action-comedy movie Headless Hero, Diao follows his late father's final wish to find an old friend in a remote village. Upon arrival, Diao quickly becomes a local sensation by winning a thrilling buffalo racing competition and a fierce boxing competition, while also capturing the heart of the village beauty. However, his strong sense of justice and defense of the poor quickly make him an enemy of the local gangsters. Trouble escalates when ruthless thieves steal the sacred head of a Buddha image from the village temple. Diao bravely pursues the thieves and successfully retrieves the stolen relic. Unfortunately, on his journey back, he is ambushed by the vengeful gangsters, who brutally behead him. But death is not the end for this brave fighter. Waking up as a powerful headless ghost, Diao embarks on a hilarious and action-packed quest for revenge against those who wronged him, proving that a true hero does not need a head to save the day.
