The Legend unveils an epic tale centered on Hwanwoong, the 19th king of Goguryeo, a divine figure dispatched from the heavens to cultivate a better world. His celestial mission takes an unexpected turn when he falls deeply in love with Saeoh, gifting her the mystical joojak necklace. Their happiness is tragically cut short by the fierce jealousy of Kajin. Consumed by envy over Saeoh bearing Hwanwoong's son, Kajin commits a heinous act, throwing the infant off a cliff. Believing her child dead, Saeoh is overwhelmed by grief, transforming into the malevolent black joojak, hell-bent on destroying the world. Only Hwanwoong possesses the power to stop her cataclysmic rampage. After this profound struggle, Hwanwoong ascends back to the Heavens, leaving behind a crucial prophecy: two millennia hence, the true Joo Shin king will arrive on Earth.
