In the poignant drama Hameln, Nagatoshi Sakamoto, a former principal, lives a peaceful life while repairing a shut down elementary school. His quiet existence is threatened when the decision to dismantle the school is officially made. Meanwhile, Noda, a former student who now works as a museum employee, returns to town to retrieve articles housed inside the building. Noda carries a small secret regarding a time capsule buried during the school’s final day. During his visit, Noda reunites with his former principal, his old teacher Ayako, and her daughter Ritsuko. Ayako is currently moving from a nursing home to a larger hospital in the next town, stopping by the school one last time with her daughter's help. As they gather at the historic site, Noda’s cherished memories of his school days vividly return, highlighting a touching story of nostalgia, legacy, and the inevitable passage of time.
