Description:

Hagane no Onna is a compelling drama about resilience and justice. Haga Ineko, a former school teacher, loses her way and turns to drinking after she is suddenly dumped by her to-be husband. Hoping to rebuild her life, she accepts an offer from an old friend to work as a substitute teacher. Her assignment is a troubled class where several previous teachers quit for no apparent reason. Upon starting, Ineko discovers a brutal cycle of bullying hidden within the classroom. When she takes a stand to protect the weaker students, she begins receiving anonymous threats. To overcome these dangers, she must live up to her nickname, Hagane. Combining her names Haga and Ineko, the nickname is a clever pun on the word hagane, which means steel. This story follows her battle to expose the bullies, protect the innocent, and show the steel-like resolve required to survive as a teacher.
