Description:

A Japanese tourist, escaping a furious rainstorm, finds sanctuary inside a once-thriving but now decrepit old movie theater. This barn-like cinema is screening the martial arts classic, King Hu's 1966 "Dragon Inn," yet the stormy weather outside does little to swell the meager audience. Within the dim, dilapidated space, a strange atmosphere prevails. Many of the few patrons present seem less engaged with the legendary film unfolding on screen and more intrigued by the possibility of mysterious encounters with strangers lurking in the comforting darkness. As the rain buckets down and the classic plays, the evening feels like a poignant farewell, not just to an iconic movie, but perhaps to the fading grandeur of the cinema itself, and the clandestine world it briefly holds.
